Description

Tissue factor (TF), a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein is also known as coagulation factor III, F3, and CD142. TF functions as a cofactor for plasma clotting protease factor VIIa (FVIIa) to initiate the coagulation cascade by activating clotting proteins factors IX and X. Tissue factor is stored on the surface of mononuclear and endothelial cells in microparticles that can shed into circulation in response to vascular injury, pro‐inflammatory cytokines, or microbial ligands. Recombinant Human Tissue Factor is a glycoprotein homodimer comprised of the 227‐amino‐acid length monomer containing a C‐terminal His‐Tag. It has a calculated molecular weight of approximately 25.8 kDa, and as a result of glycosylation, Recombinant Human Tissue Factor migrates with an apparent molecular mass of approximately 40‐50 kDa by SDS‐PAGE gel.
